Letter to President Obama

Dear Mr President,

I am an American that was born in Washington, DC. I am nine years old and a school child. At the moment I live in England.

I am happy that you are president but I think that you should use your role better by making America safer for school children, because I would like to live in America again without the fear of being shot. I understand that guns are also needed for hunting because my father, when he was my age, used to go hunting in America. I am especially afraid of semi-automatic guns because they are easy to get a hold of and can be used to kill lots of people. I can understand that guns were legal at first for the protection of rights. Nowadays though that excuse no longer makes sense because guns, even semi-automatic guns, are nothing compared to bombs (I am not in favour of bombs either). You would make your family and all Americans very proud if you made America a safer place.

Sincerely,
Bellusaurus sui

  1. This is a lovely and poignant letter. I am almost crying. I hope the President can figure out what to do about this.
